    Another app has implemented this really well so it would be possible for Yousician to do this. The Jamtutor app for the Jamstik midi guitar has this as a default feature in "practice mode." The song stops unless you play the note or chord correctly. The user controls the tempo. If you play at regular speed and hit every note it sounds perfect.
