Hmmmm, this would probably not work for me for the faster songs, as it looks like yousician is not always able to keep up registering all the notes. I am reluctant to say this because it is ofc more likely my playing is just inaccurate, but too often while playing pieces that have repetitions of the same note in fast sequences, I could swear Yousician does not correctly pick up the notes I play. Nevertheless, if this is perfected (or maybe just better configured, calibrated on my side) this feature would be quite nice to have.

I would think this is extremely important as it is often not obvious. Especially the fast lead sections that require special techniques (hammer-ons, pull-offs and picking style/direction) to be able to be played at 100% speed. You will usually start practicing at slow pace. Playing those sections slow maybe relatively doable, but at 100% speed you may find out that (guessed) wrong picking directions slow you down. If a song is difficult and you spent a long time memorizing the wrong picking directions, it takes a lot of time to 'unlearn' it. For many pieces I think that the picking direction is at least as important as the fingering. Just as some pieces are almost impossible to pull off without pull-offs (pun intended) and hammer-ons, likewise they may be impossible without applying the right picking directions. Even though some of the videos explicitly tell you which picking direction to use for the demonstrated patterns, it is far from obvious which of those patterns to apply in the actual songs. Personally the worst thing about this lacking feature, is the damage of learning something the wrong way and then having to unlearn it. Muscle memory is extremely important for a clean technique.

I have the same problem, although ideally better options for dealing with the slider are possible. In contrast to what @Bee commented, I often use the slider mid-song while practicing. So I would like it to stay readily accessible. Just adjust the layout of the various components on the screen to match that of the 'STANDARD & FRET' notation, which doesn't seem to suffer from this issue. I am not 100% sure though, because it seems that the issue is affected by the particular screen ratio a user is using. In any case the solutions I see are:
    - Change the layout, in particular decrease the vertical size of the TAB board, so more room above the staff will become available for showing the slider
    - Change the vertical size of the slider so it fits above the staff
    - Make the transparency of the slider configurable and/or susceptible to whether the mouse is close to it so while playing the notes can be seen through it

I am actually quite surprised this isn't supported in an otherwise excellent app. I think it is absolutely essential to properly master fingerpicking, especially for anyone starting with fingerpicking for the first time.
