I agree. This should be easily possible in 2021 by letting us add music from iTunes, Amazon Music, and Spotify. Other guitar apps offer this type of feature, but they have poor implementation. I bet Yousician could do it better on the backend and front end of the app.

I agree, but wouldn’t that first require the adoption of MIDI and MPE? Because Yousician so far has only expressed an interest in supporting MIDI for piano — which is insane when you see how many MIDI guitars are available on the market these days with more likely coming soon. I have trouble understanding how this feature still hasn’t been added to Yousician in 2021.

I also have the Jamstik Studio guitar. It would be a great collaboration. Zivix has lots of customers with their various Jamstik MIDI models, but the Studio has become widely popular. Zivix would probably let their customers know that Yousician supports their devices if it were officially supported which would easily widen Yousician’s customer base.

It’s pretty crazy that there’s no standard MIDI support in this app anyway — most music apps offer it, so it seems logical that a guitar learning app should adopt the tech.

There’s enough collective comments about requesting midi support on this message board — just search for “MIDI” to see that. Most people don’t bother to take the time to ask developers for features, sadly — but I guarantee a large number of people would use a MIDI feature if it were made available in the app.

Please, the time is now. There are many other midi devices on the market — pianos, stringed instruments, even microphones that convert voice to MIDI. Be the first to adopt this capability and lead the pack of guitar learning apps. Let students get the best possible note detection experience, as well as the capability to add effects while playing (als Fender Play’s mustang amps). Don’t be last to the party!
