Many scores of music don't have a suggested BPM number, but will instead use words like "Largo", "Andante", "Presto" etc..
When studying a new piece, if I see "Allegro", for example, I don't have the BPM range (about 120-168) memorized, so it would be great if, when adjusting the BPM in the metronome, the corresponding tempo word would be displayed. So, if I set the BPM to 130, I'll see "Allegro" displayed as well.
