Maximum score - best single play instead of combined plays
High scores should not keep looking individually at sections and should be done on overall complete song score in one play. I can achieve maximum by not playing the song well once, but only lots of times and accumulating that I have done one section at a time perfect and starting it with a top multiplier occasionally. This is not good and doesn’t really reflect the overall ability to play the whole song well. Or have two scores, one that is a best for overall playing.
It would be better if the high score was based on the users' best unique performance because this is what 'high score' is.

For me it's good as it is. You can focus on the part you want to practice and see whether you have improved or not. Like the solos, for example.
If you have two scores, fine. But if there's going to be only one, I very much prefer the current approach.

There is another similar one to this that was archived a while back when there were a lot less users. I agree, you can play song badly enough times and be lucky to hit each section well and get Max. Should be for whole song only, therefore much harder to achieve. Or give both scores, sections individually and not an accumulated score.

Please allow yousician to track my performance over time. Right now, the "best score" is a combination of the best results over all performances and not a reflection of if I'm getting better. Yousician should track the last N number of performances (or all) and provide a graph of how I'm doing vs. the maximum possible.

Currently, the high score is based on cumulative performances. Would it be better if the high score was based on the users' best unique performance because this is what 'high score' is !!! ( another try at this idea )

Currently, the high score is based on cumulative performances - in theory, this could be from a combination of lots of 'low scoring' performances over a period of time (though not low enough to 'fail' a given song/scale/etc). Would it be better if the high score was based on the users' best unique performance?

As I understand it, the 'Hi Score' for a song is calculated by combining the best of all sections from previous attempts. I personally would much prefer that there be at least be an option to have it reflect just the best high score of any SINGLE attempt - not an amalgamation of ALL attempts. I find it frustrating that when my goal is to redo songs and exceed the best single performance to date, that what I'm competing against is the segmented best of ALL attempts. This makes my daily objectives discouraging.
