Ability to skip a section
skip a section and still be able to move on. In piano, maybe I don't care to recognize keys/sounds. Just let us skip the whole section and more on to the next level. Otherwise why am I paying for this?

With the latest syllabus changes, all lessons are now unlocked. You can now access any lesson without having to complete the previous one to unlock it.

For me, I can't stand Coldplay. Yellow is like nails on a chalkboard. Might be country for you, or some other particular specific artist.
Being able to skip over sections in the guided lesson syllabus that feature these songs that are bordering on offensive to the soul would be nice. And having those artists or even genres that we just have no interest in ever seeing, being blacklisted from showing at all, would be great.

Yousician implemented this in the February 2021 update: https://yousician.com/blog/whats-new-in-yousician-february-2021-update , https://support.yousician.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017755338
"The learning paths are unlocked for all instruments. You can skip and play any mission or skip to any task within a mission. This change gives you the option to focus on the missions you want to play, skip ahead based on previous playing experience and to follow your interests."

I agree that skipping should be implemented. Though I don't agree with being so obnoxious

Please let us skip. I don't understand how this feature is still not implemented.

I trying to learn the regular chords, but I have to get through power chords and I can’t do it. I have no intention on ever using power chords so I’m really pissed off.

For paid memberships it would be great to gave access to all songs if the level is opened. I am stuck with one song and I want to return to it later but can't proceed

Also, if you guys want to skip sections, all of the lesson videos and songs are available through other parts of the app. Check out the Workouts section to learn other techniques. The Lessons section is designed to be a path you progress along, so enforcing progress there is kind of the point.

I’m surprised at the number of people complaining about power chords. I primarily play acoustic and they sound just fine. I agree that some techniques in the lessons feel impossible or very difficult on an acoustic, but power chords aren’t one of them. In fact, one of my favorite things about playing lately is taking a song designed for a heavy sounding electric guitar and making it sound just as cool on my acoustic, which Yousician has helped with enormously

For the ones thinking that power chords don't make any sense on acoustic, that's jut not true. They've been used on many occasions, for example a band called Nirvana used them a lot in their unplugged sessions, and they sound great. It's not that they're useless on acoustic, but they're mainly living in the domain of rock music
TBH if you don't recognize keys you're not gonna learn how to play, or at least it's gonna be much more difficult for you to learn songs later on. Why do you not want to recognize keys? It's fundamental.
I may add, that it seems that people are so spoiled nowadays. I'm not interested in learning all the styles, but I'm still curious about different styles and even if I don't like a particular song I can make myself learn it and I try to find anything positive about it. It's like people are acting like small kids, throwing a fit whenever there's something they don't like 100% or even dislike, and are unable to step out of their own comfort zone. That's not a mindset for personal or musical growth, it's a mindset for 5y old who wants their parent's to fulfill their needs.

Is there some way that I can get straight back on to Part 2 or- preferably- bypass these trainers if I want to and go straight to learn the new piece?

100%!!!!
I’m playing an acoustic guitar and I want to learn chords and finger picking, not power chords! I can’t move forward learning because I can’t move past the moveable power chord lesson. So frustrating!

I’ve been on moveable power chords section for a week (also on acoustic). At first, I wondered if the app was overly critical for playing acoustic but as frustrated as it has made me, I’m starting to realize that it’s likely me as I’ve spent quite a few hours watching videos and working on it to the point that I now think that I see the path there. I see the weakness. Definitely my first real wall-type thing.

Agree too...I won’t continue with my subscription as impossible to continue to progress on this app with this issue.

Totally agree! Power chords on an acoustic guitar doesn't make any sense and I don't want to be forced to do them. This takes all the fun out of learning guitar for me. Please fix this!!! Ready to cancel my subscription right now.

Yes . I am even gonna cancel in a few days if they don't fix the problem.

I'm on the string bender level and it's very hard to pass it with an acoustic guitar. Please, create an acoustic path...

Yes! I’m getting so frustrated that I’m thinking of cancelling. I only want to play acoustic. I won’t ever use power chords.

Agree on this, especially that I'm learning chords and the power chord exercises force me to pick individual notes which were not practiced earlier in the track (so I never saw strings with numbers on them like in the lead guitar track)
