Improve the tempo slider
The tempo slider is a bit annoying for two reasons: when you try to set the tempo, your finger covers most of it making adjustment harder, and the first tap changes the tempo immediately.
There are already ideas about making it bigger, but I don't think it really solves the usability issues. It would be great if you could leave the current tempo in place if I start dragging it. This way I wouldn't have to aim for the right place immediately - just swipe left at any place of the slider to slow down and right to speed up. For big adjustment the current tap behaviour could stay.

With the most recent app update, changes have been made to how the tempo is adjusted when using Practice Mode. You can find more information about this and other changes on our blog below:

Keep on rocking! ?
Please also enable us to move the tempo slider so that it does not hide the notes that are coming up….
@viraptor, look what you've done. The new tempo "clicker" is much worse than the previous tempo slider (at 5% increments). Can we find a happy medium please? Agreed that a wider slider would be nice, and allowing us to type in percentages if we choose to do so.

I'd like it to work with the left right arrows so I can move by 1 percent increments
Yay - new tempo control!

It would be great to be able to manually enter a start point (ex: 65% rather than trying to get slider to land exactly on it)
Great suggestions, it is a real pain futzing with this.
Here come the links:
Add + and - buttons to set the tempo on Practice Mode
Use BPM to set the tempo of a song
My suggestion was based on the suggestion "In song practice mode, widen the speed adjustment bar" by Mike, which is avaliable here: https://yousician.uservoice.com/forums/296820-feature-requests/suggestions/33009514-in-song-practice-mode-widen-the-speed-adjustment
There are some users who say that there are songs which are very hard to play. If you're playing a red level song, you probably will think it's very hard or even impossible to play on the right tempo and so, you go to Practice Mode to reduce it. But, you may think it is still very hard. And you reduce the tempo to its minimum: 25%. If you think it needs to be more slowed down, then it's time to widen the tempo bar. The bar should be widen from 25%-145% to 0%-200%. It allows you to play very hard songs easier and you can train playing songs that you dominate at the double of the tempo! Why not?

The + (plus) and - (minus) buttons should be added to Yousician. These buttons should be "hold it" buttons, what means that these buttons should be buttons where you just have to hold to increase or decrease the tempo faster, instead of tapping them 50 times to reduce the tempo from 100% to 50%, for example. With the actual bar, you take too much time to set the tempo to 82%, for example. Also, because Jason Matthew said in a comment "We have usual human fingers, not pointy fingers". So, it's more easy and quick with + and - buttons.
Another idea that I have is to add songs to do bigger increments or reduces on tempo, like these: +5%, +10%, +15%, -5%, -10%, -15%... For example, if you press the +5% button, 5% is added to the actual tempo.
Yes. + and - buttons would make the difference. For example: You want to adjust the tempo for exactly 82%. No more, no less. You take 5-10 seconds to do it. It's more easy and quick with +/- buttons. And these buttons should be "hold it" buttons. This means that these buttons should be buttons where you just have to hold to increase or decrease the tempo faster, instead of tapping them 50 times to reduce the tempo from 100% to 50%, for example.
Another idea is to add songs for bigger increments or reduces on tempo. For example: +5%, +10%, +15%, -5%, -10%...
And the bar should be wider. If you're a begginer and you tried to play harder songs, especially red level songs, 25% is still very hard. Expanding it from 25%-145% to 0%-200% would be good, because you can play very hard songs easier and also teste your speed at songs that you dominate. Don't forget to vote for my ideas about this (I will link to them later).
Auto practice mode increases speed in 5 % steps. I think a "snap to 5 %" option when manually setting the speed would also work quite well.

I too find it difficult to adjust the speed. A wider adjustment bar or plus/minus buttons would help. Its also difficult to set the sliders when trying to focus on just a portion of the song. Need to keep a lead in and natural entry point.
@yousician - Can someone from the product development team comment on these? This seems like a pretty simple thing to implement in one way or another. Do any of these ideas make it onto the product roadmap?
I agree with this idea, in particular with this comment: "Instead of a slider I think plus and minus buttons that increases/decreases 10% would work better"
Instead of a slider I think plus and minus buttons that increases/decreases 10% would work better.

I agree with Barry! Either 5% or 10% increments. Nobody ever intentionally wanted to practice at 71%. Also, when you take your finger off, it tends to move a tiny bit. Super frustrating!!!
It would also be nice if the bar went up to 200% instead of 125%. One possible way to do this would be to have a button that flips the bar from 0-100% to 100-200%.

Definitely! We have the usual human type fingers. not pointy fingers.
