Ability to mark songs as Dislike, Exclude, Hide, Permanently skip or set account to preferred type of music
When scrolling through the "New Songs" list, I would like a way to mark songs that I have previously checked out but didn't like or was not interested in. If there was a way to tag these then they could be filtered out or at least marked so I would know not to open it again.
Since the songs show up quite randomly, I find I'm always scrolling through looking for something new that I might be interested in. This will get more tedious than it already is as the collection grows.
Also to add:
-Permanently skip a song or exclude from the syllabuss- some songs don't resonate at all with me so it takes away my joy of playing.
-Set Account To Preferred Type of Music

I had a similar idea to this; a feature called "Set List", where you could line up a number of songs in an order of your choosing, hit "Go" and it would start you in the first song, and seamlessly transition to successive songs, as if you were playing a show, without having to do anything in between the songs.
Especially in Practice Mode, this would be extremely helpful.
Better yet permanently skip entire genre: METAL!! 🙉

Please let me skip. I don't understand how this feature is still not implemented.
This feature is sorely needed. There are some songs that I just don't want to practice. I'm not interested in them, and they block my progress. Is it not possible to have an alternative of similar level from the song database to switch?
Essentially the ability to create a playlist of the current songs you are practicing. Then when you click play it takes you through each one in the same format as a Guided Lesson (ie you don’t ever have to return to a main menu or Collection screen, instead you stay in the flow...)
I would like the option to trade a song. My lead progress has gotten very slow on level 7. I want to learn the skills but sometimes a song is so unenjoyable its hard to practice.
Like a lot of Yousician people I'm pretty obsessive about gold starring before I move too far past a song. Swamp thing has been a labor of pain (not love). After 6 weeks of regular practice on it I've got parts 2 & 3 golded and am one lucky run away from getting part 1.
That being said, distaste and struggles with swamp thing has pushed me towards the challenges and song searches which allow me to build skill and have fun.
Since months now i get annoyed by one song. I´m at level 5 and do the guided lesson. This song "I ain`t got nobody" comes every time (sometimes at the beginning but always!!!!!!! at the End. Best was at the beginning and at the end too!!!) This drives me crazy. I gave this to the support and they told me to skip or play other songs beside the guided lesson to get a better chance getting rid of this song..
So 1. skip means shorten also the guided play time about the time of the song and 2. other songs played didn`t help.
Now the support told me to post this in this forum. Hm, can`t understand why the support doesn`t give it directly to the projectmanagers / programmers! I mean we spend not less money for Yousician and now we have to do qualitymanagement too??
Why isn`t there a dislike button when there is also a like button? It must be possible to ban a song even if there seems to be a problem with the Yousician-App and you get very frustrated. Besides songs does`t fit everyones taste. And this song drives me real crazy!
So please do something and place a DISLIKE-Button very very soon!!!!!!! Or skip does`t shorten the guided lesson-time.
Same. I love the program but some of the bass lines are AWFUL.
1. Are you 'stuck' as in you're unable to pass the song, even with 1 star in each part? Or are you able to pass the song, but you don't want to move on until you collect all stars or gold stars? Stuck as in I get 1 star.
2. Do you use practice mode to slow songs down and practice in small parts? If so, does this help you learn songs more efficiently? Yes I do but I hate them so much I put the guitar down.
3. Have you checked out the Songs tab? There are lots of songs available across all sorts of music genres, but do you find it easy to find other songs you like in there? Yes, but I want to pass the board.

This is really a great idea
Even be able to create more categories
I have the same promblem, stuck in level 4 `sunny days`. I don t like the song, don t enjoy it all. I think I can never pas it . I find it extremly difficult to learn a song you don t like at all

Yousician Users should be required to set their accounts to the type of music they like upon registration and / or by changing their Account settings. Like so, the songs featured during mission and workout sessions would be suitable to the user’s taste in music. Especially when singing. In addition, this option should suitably and solely implement and recommend a collection of songs in the home page / Yousician Collections based on the user’s preferred type of music which is specified in their account settings.
E.g. if I change my settings to “Christian Music”, in that case Yousician should solely recommend me different genres of Christian Music in Yousician Collections as well as exclusively featuring Christian songs in my missions and workouts.
Choosing a minimum of 1 type of music to 3 types the most (in account settings) should be enabled.
Doing piano practice, and while I've never 100% perfected Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (single hand), I never want to play it again, and skipping eats up "practice time"

This, exactly. Every time I see freres jaques i want to scream. But it tries to end every lesson with it.... no matter how often I skip it doesn't offer anything else.
You can go to Songs > Workouts. There are lots of categories and you can choose which do you want. There are songs for each category.
I'm an older man and really dislike some of the modern rock. I prefer classic rock, folk, jazz, and so on. It would be really nice to have lessons tailored to my tastes.
I have one song that keeps coming up that I really dislike. It's not at all in the style I want to play and I have no interest in it. I'd like the ability to exclude it and substitute something equally challenging.
I've been wit Yousician since December 2017, and some days I may not have time or focus to follow the 'Guided Lesson' and only play few of the songs I really like - that way I don't skip a day and keeps me on the track.
Recently I have hit a barrier - 'Two Ravens' song - I can't play that song at all - but also I can't pass that to advance any further, so I'd like the option to remove that from the track and keep going.
I’m stuck on swamp thing too. I just want to move on but can’t even get a star in each section and I have been on it for weeks!
Give us a skip yousician. I have done reasonably well up till now and even played Danny Boy!

Agree, I absolutely hate this song! Its really bizarre piece and you will never ever in your life have to be able to play such a stupid nonsense ultrafast shifting. On top of that Yousician only recognizing every third chord played does not help at all
I had a similar issue with a pseudo-reggie tune on Level 7 lead. I disliked the tune and didn't find it fun to practice. I came up with a workable solution that doesn't require software change:
1. Find other songs in that level and play until I'm proficient. In my case - I decided to work on Level 7 lead of Finger Oil Blues which gave me everything but slides.
2. If I need (and I do not think I'll need) I can find another level 7 lead song, perhaps one that has slides in it. Work on that for awhile.
3. Begin the challenge process to unlock that level without playing the required song.
- Now I can practice a tune I actually enjoy and still get the skill development needed.
There: No software change needed - just moving along the progression. It's not really about the songs, it's about the techniques anyway.
There is, however, good reason to practice songs we don't like - knowing that you can force yourself to work through something uninspiring is good practice. Not every musician loves playing every song he is forced to play.
As Ian Anderson said on the 20th anniversary boxed set: "Here's a song we've been utterly loathe to play for 15 long years, presented to you in a slightly more tricky form to make it a little more fun to play!"
For the record: I loved Sitting on a Park Bench - but I'm a huge Tull fan.
Strong work Yousician!
