Better stats & info about playing errors
Better playing stats to make it easier to spot and correct playing errors i.e.:
*Score per section
*Replay of notes you missed and have the app show why that chord/note didn't register.
*Stats on whether you tend to play notes early or late etc (timing accuracy).
*Song map or errors list that shows errors
*Missed strings when playing chords
*How many total notes you played at the end of it instead of just stars
Adding a per minute stat in the weekly email update and the stats page
It would be great to show the wrong note you've played somehow, no just coloring it red. So you could immediately see, how much off you were.
Maybe you could even show every note played by the user with less opacity on the sheet.
Particularly with chords I can't tell why it didn't register a particular note, whether it was because I was too early or late, if the chord was too wrong (a single wrong string shows well enough), or if it just didn't pick up a strong enough strum

Hello, when I play a long piece, even in practice mode, and I go to the end, I can't find a way to go back to see and check single errors.
Even if I stop execution, I can see an overview of mistakes (red zones on the song map at the bottom) but I can't see single red notes going back on the music sheet.
The song map is so little to be not really useful.
In my opinion it would be very useful an 'Errors list' feature that allows me to go back and forth in the music sheet to check single mistakes.
This should be not very difficult to implement, because now, while playing, I can see notes changing colors on the music sheets. So what is lacking is just a way to freeze colors on music sheet to let me see it in search of mistakes.
To activate it an idea could be to click on the song map and having 'a zoom' of the corresponding area in the music sheet with evidence of mistakes.
Finally, the best would be if I can check the kind of error: if I click on a red note a popup tell me "too early", "you played B instead of C" and similar ..
The feature could be optionally activated by user even if I think it would became a standard for learners.

In practice mode, if I play a wrong note, it turns completely RED. Instead, if it displays an "X" mark over the note (keeping its original color intact), it helps me know which finger to be used to play that note correctly.
Yes! I would love to be able to see how my score improves with practice of the song, ie seeing how much it has improved by archived in the song, instead of just seeing one high score with the ‘new high score’ message deleted as soon as you exit the song.
Ability to show the number of chords done in practice mode longer because tapping pause makes the scroe goes away,

I'd really like it if we could have an overlay of the time spent on a lesson - on all screens. Right now I have to go into my profile to see if I need to complete another exercise, or if I've gone way over my schedule. This is particularly important when in practice mode where you have no visibility. I understand that differences between mobile applications and their Windows counterparts mean that there is perhaps no one-size-fits-all solution, but certainly android will allow an overlay. I'm less sure about ios.
The idea would be having the app memorize the last and/or best attempt for each song. This would allow the user to compare the current run with either their best and/or their last attempt and see at which points they failed and what needs improvement. Two points come to mind on how to use this feature:
1. The recorded attempt could show as kind of a "Ghost" attempt while you play alongside your current attempt, giving you real time feedback on where you're improving or what needs more practice.
2. At the end of each attempt, allow a detailed review of the current attempt which could let you analyze step by step where you need more practice (i.e. changing between two specific chords), this detailed view could make use of the recorded sessions (best/last) to compare the two.
I have not found this suggested already but I believe that since Yousician is designed as a learning tool, the star system does not really provide a potent enough feedback. In my experience I can play the same song about 10-15 times and always get three stars but not gold, and there are minor differences in the errors i make in each attempt which make it difficult for me to identify a pattern of what i am doing wrong. The detailed view would allow users to inspect and analyze their performance.
you used to show how well timed we played notes, no it's absent, I already requested this before but please, bring back the timing stats post-song!
I would love this. I've been stuck on a song for ages because I don't know what I'm doing wrong (even asked for help in the forum). This would be really great.
How about adding a per minute stat in the weekly email update and the stats page. Its more useful seeing as how you dont always play the same # of minutes.
It is not easy to know why you did not get a note correctly. Since there can be 3 options (too early, too late, wrong note) can the app be changes so misses have different color according to the type of miss? This can also be applied while playing. Instead of writing too early/late just show it by color (or text with the corresponding color) so the reason will be clearer and learning faster.

+1 on the feedback sheet. I find it hard to know where in a song I’m losing points because of late/early hits. I can’t focus on that while playing.
I think that what we played should be recorded and shown afterwards as a reply function. Doesn’t have to be the realistic sound being recorded for it to be useful, just the timing that should be digitally recorded for reply.
Hi. The graphic that shows missed notes at the bottom of the screen disappears when you move on to a new song. It would be great if we called up a song in a Practice mode it was already populated with the previous playthrough graphics, so we could go straight to practicing problem bits.
+1 I think it would be rewarding to see the steady increasing trend of song level score/points
right now you can gold star each part in different takes and the score shown is the sum of the best time you played each separate part. they really need to make a separate marker for your best score playing the entire song in a single take. that's all, thanks.
I agree this was really usefull
Restore the interface
This app used to have several useful things that were removed for no reason;
1. Timing graphs that showed the amount of early/perfect/late notes played
2. A circle during ads telling free users how long was left in session
3. A number next to sons showing stars earned out of stars avaliable
All of these are gone and for no reason, they were useful damn it!
Tell us when we miss notes WHY we missed them; EG "too late" or "wrong fret"
