Option to control backing track volume on guitar/bass/piano/uke/singing
Let's say I play a song for the first time. Hearing the instrument sound played in the mix is nice to have, as it gives an idea of how I'm supposed to sound. Once I learned it, it would be great if I could control that backing track volume with a slider, even mute it, so I can hear all the details of my playing in the mix.
These backing tracks with the instrument playing the same notes tend to mask mistakes that would be heard otherwise.
this feature could be implemented automatically to the instrument one is learning.

The ability to mute the instrument instrument I'm playing from the backing track would be an enormously helpful upgrade to the experience. If I'm practicing piano or guitar, I'd prefer for that instrument did not exist in the backing track anyway. It's really distracting when I'm playing a piano on top of another piano, especially when the "backing piano" is playing a more complicated part with additional notes.

Yeah, for me it is much easier for me to play along with the track that includes the audio of the instrument that I am playing but it also encourages YC to be more of a crutch than probably intended. Having multi-track recordings where we are able to remove the parts that we are playing is so helpful in mesmerizing the song and determining if your playing is on point. Seems like it would be a easy thing to do since a large part of your songs are covers and that you should have easy access to the stems. for original records if you can get them great but if not, it shouldn't stop you from using the ones that you do have

I agree with other commenters who have suggested adding the ability to mute the backing track instrument that the user is playing. For instance, on a performance, I DO NOT want to hear somebody else playing the bass part if I'm playing bass. Same if I were playing another instrument. When I'm playing in a live band there isn't somebody standing off to the side playing my bass part along with me. That kind of thing is fine for learning a song (but users should still have the ability to mute that track) but not for the performance. I don't see how this is that difficult a feature to adjust.

I agree. I also like the idea of being able to turn off the backing track completely and still have the metronome play. There are some songs I absolutely hate, but I recognize the need to develop certain skills.

Doesn't the app already have these?

Same here. I have an e-guitar connected to my windows PC over an audio interface (Focusrite Solo). I can barely hear the guitar, The guitar is almost inaudible, although I turned the volume and gain in the mixer to the maximum. So I would like to have control over the volume of the background music.

I am using a Native Instruments Midi Keyboard with yousician piano on an ipad pro.
I am aware of the mixer control but the piano is *way* too quiet. I can barely hear it. Please give more options to lower the backing track vs the piano i play.I cant use the software in the current state.

When my piaono is connected to the Ipad, and I'm using yousician, the background music is louder than the actualy piano sounds, and there is no way to lower the background music. My headphones are plugged into the Ipad as well, so I'm listening to the piano sound through the ipad through yousician.

To remove backing music either mute your device or use head phones and just don't wear them when you don't want to listen to the music. Other than that, practice mode is what you're looking for :) I think it even has a record function if you want to listen to yourself after.

Ever tried practice mode? You can do all this there.

You can indeed turn the volume of the Yousician's piano to zero WITHIN A SONG from the left side panel. It's a shame that it cannot turned off in the settings, that would be a logical place for it.

I am using MIDI setup with my piano. Everything works perfectly. But piano sound is too low. I know about piano mixer feature. I am at maximum volume in mixer already.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to play a song after sheet notes the same way as when you play by yourself and have Yousician giving feedback on the performance.
This would simulate a teacher listening and give feedback.
This could be even better if it would be possible to select tempo, repeat part of the music and more.
Thank you 🙏 -

When you are able to isolate a basstrack so I can hear it better I will be more interested in signing up. It´s difficult to hear how the bass sound for most of the time.

Anonymous, you didn’t get it. I want to hear my guitar playing AND the track from Yousician WITHOUT the guitar already recorded on it. On my headphones, or my speaker, it doesn’t matter.

Use earphones!!!!! That's how you do it

Is there any movement on this request? I just bout an iRig interface and I can hardly hear my bass as I play. When I practice, I want to stand out in the mix, so that I can actually hear what I'm doing.

It would be good to have the ability to turn off other tracks. For example I'm learning bass guitar so really want to hear the bass drum to help me keep time. The vocals and the guitar are often a lot clearer than the drums. Turning them off would help to make the drums clearer for rhythm musicians.
This feature would defintely help with locking in with the drums to improve timing.

if all instruments has been recorded separatly, it would be cool, if I could mute each instrument which I want. I could play on my gitar with drums or bass if I wonted to.
