Remove instant feedback(early, late, perfect etc) while performing, and on finishing, give a sheet with problem areas to focus on.
Remove Instant Feedback while Performing.

I have stopped using the app because Yousician did not make the instant feedback optional. I came back two years later and nope...still extremely annoying, discouraging, finger pointing feature, when you do not want it. This has to be an optional feature, it could be very helpful, to spot delays and mistakes. Problem areas, problematic patterns could be spotted with an end report, as the original author suggests.
Worst of all: It shows you what you did wrong, but do not suggest what to do about it. Example: 'Late, late, late, early, early, early' apparently, the user have a problem with rhythm... why not suggest an exercise for that? Or user keeps missing the accidentals...let's focus on that.
This is a smart app that can offer much more. Such a pity, that this problem is still not addressed properly. -

Seems like it's not gonna be done seeing as it's been three years since guy first suggested this. That being said though I think removing active feedback (telling you you're late/early as you're playing a note) & instead having a system in place that, post song shows you your problem points when it comes to timing & missed notes etc. would make for a much better learning experience. Like Marcus mentioned you wouldn't need to record the entirety of the person playing, just their problem points and then providing workouts that could remedy the issues pertaining to the song. If not any of that then at least having a yellow color between the red and green ones that confirm you hitting a note indicating that there was a problem with your input at that time. While the current system is fine and has worked through levels 1-5, I think personally that the experience as a whole would benefit from a more in depth guide to handling your mistakes. Or at the very least just being able to turn off the dude telling you to give it another spin in practice mode after you've given it your best shot and it didn't work out. Either way I'll continue supporting & paying for premium as this is the best guitar learning service I've found for this price, and I do believe there was genuine passion in wanting to teach people these wonderful instruments put behind the creation of Yousician. Y'all have a great day now.

+1 on the feedback sheet. I find it hard to know where in a song I’m losing points because of late/early hits. I can’t focus on that while playing.
I think that what we played should be recorded and shown afterwards as a reply function. Doesn’t have to be the realistic sound being recorded for it to be useful, just the timing that should be digitally recorded for reply.

Amen. It should possible to use the app without the commentary feedback. It sometimes becomes pretty annoying to see "perfect" "early" etc. on top of each and every note.

This is the best idea right here. My back and neck are killing me. Im trying to learn a song and I look at the chord, look down at frets to check finger placement, strum, look up (fingers crossed for green!) oh no next chord, look down, strum, look for the green. Rinse and repeat. Add a little physical pain, sprinkle in frustration and failing the mission, topped off with a swift kick in the nuts while im down with “try slowing down in practice mode.” If anything let me have a Gordon Ramsey type voice or some shit to spice it up.
