Options to change background color and graphics
So, When I am trying to practice piano, I either used the enhanced notes or the standard notes. But either way, If you're playing a higher or lower note that goes off the staff, it's impossible to see against such a dark background, especially if you're playing on a small screen like your phone. Also against that dark blue background lines through the notes (like C, for example) are virtually invisible. I don't have this issue in perform mode, because that light blue color is fine. In practice mode, can the color be a lighter color, or allow us to choose what color it is? I'm getting serious eye strain.

Allow us to set custom background colours please. I see others have issues with backgrounds that are too dark but when they're white i lose track of the tracking bouncing ball for the tabs. It completely blends into the white background and i lose my place in the song. Let us just set a background colour in the settings so that its ideal for our eyes, monitors, or cellphones please. Thanks.

The beginning of each song starts with a bright yellow background. This changes after a few notes of the song, but if those first few notes are on the hi-E or B strings, you can't follow the white bouncing ball easily.
A white bouncing ball against a bright yellow (almost white) background is too hard to see.

Any options, as long as it is possible to turn off the animation.... consider an initial feature to turn off animation, before embarking on a larger feature like allowing to change/customize the background...or if it is simplest for you to be able to set the background (without animation) that would solve my need of having NO ANIMATION on the background (since it is very very distracting for my and my kid).

To be this is not just a feature, this is a bug. It is an easy fix (you just need to figure out where to put the setting, I am sure you have some ideas about where)
This animations are severely distracting my daughter and removes the fun for her learning (this is not a game application, it is a learning application)
Apple, I am sure probably has some guidelines around the topic for people with attention difficulties. In the iOS device settings one can turn off certain animations because of this.

I agree, it would be great to have a background for people that are sensitive to glare. Something like the night background that is used in reading apps

when I practice the song don't make the screen go on dark mode, that just makes me sleepy. The practice screen should be white to keep me focused!

THIS!!!! THIS EXACTLY!
Just started encountering it and it is really disappointing from a design and usability standpoint -- please remove the dark blue background.
As the complexity increases and we move well beyond the enclosed staff for the trainers this is only going to frustrate us more and we may not continue purchasing the service. This should be quite an easy fix: background: white The blue is cute, but we're interested in usability over cuteness.

Maybe more on this -- during the speeding up exercises (not sure what they are called, trainers?) -- there are black notes tied together above the staff on a dark blue background -- you literally can't see them. Really poor choice for a background, consider either doing as Mariah suggested and allow custom colors or select higher contrast items. You'd never see a music book with dark gray backgrounds with black notes, it is too hard to see even with full brightness on the devices.
Color blind mode isn't available either for piano on the 4.7 version of the ipad app.

Been using the Yousician app for more than four years and haven’t had to many complaints in the time Ive used it. Except for the latest update. Ive found the background color in the past on the exercises soothing when the music is stressing me out. Dealing with your white and off white background while trying to learn this shit is about to make me kill somebody. You need to incorporate an option in your features and settings to allow for users to change the background color on the exercises they are practicing. Any numbscull can tell you the effect color can have on artistic expression and over all mood. Id prefer to be in a calm and relaxed place while practicing, not stressed out and murderous. Thank you.

Same problem! Just impossible to read those higher or lower notes on this dark background! Black and white is the best, just like regular sheet music!

Can you make an option to change the background colour when the music is playing?
The "perform" background colour is too bright
"practice mode" is smoother to the eyes!
Please!!

I thought it was just me. Basically cane googled of it was possible to change the background and ended on this forum. Glad someone already suggested this and I hope they take it into consideration. I actually thought middle c didn’t have a strike through line in practice mode until now.

Those background animations literally got me feel dizzy after 5 minutes of play :) the waves go to the left ant the fret animation goes to the right. Awful feeling btw. Please add a settings to switch animations on/off.

When the game is stopped, dynamic background behind the sheets makes me really uncomfortable. I mean it, 2 days ago it made me sick.
Maybe they can stop when the game stops. Or an on/off switch may be useful for others too. I have to admit it is cheerful, but I cant focus to the sheet if I ever stop and try to return in the middle of a song. Tried it 3-4 times after that day, it's impossible for me.
And if it is "pedagogically reasonable" or something, you may have some color switches too.For something not very functional, it is a bit redundant. You should REALLY think about a switch.
Can't stress this enough: This is not a design aspect for me, I can't use the program.

I have the same problem. The dark background is terrible. I submitted the exact same request.

Considering the hours and hours a person will spend reading the tab and practicing along... I've always thought the colorful and fun graphics of GuitarBots.. was a really good idea.. in Yousician aside from the tab, we only get to look at the transparent floating ribbons and bubbles... on an overwhelmingly green field... I don't think we necessarily need the bots playing in the background,. but there should be some options to change up the background to make it more fun or interesting... I think it would be cool.. if we could choose a folder of pics to run as a slideshow in the background of our gameplay... that way.. we could look at whatever we wanted, while we play... this functionality.. would also open up some cool possibilities... it might be neat to see a slideshow tour of "the making of a Yousician song".. for instance.... or even better yet... it could be a means to explain some of the theory behind the music while we're learning it.... and if you were feeling nostalgic.. you could just crop some screenshots of the bots,. and throw them in your folder...
