Numbers instead of colours is a must for piano.
People learning piano are used to numbers instead of colours for finger selection. Using colours when you are used to numbers is quite confusing.

I am at level 6 and am quite comfortable with the colors of my fingers since I´ve been using the colored sheet notation for a while. BUT I have now realized that when the sheet music becomes "fast and complicated", I tend to play by color and not by note This is not good. I too would prefer to have a number where appropriate in the sheet music to indicate which finger is recommended to play the note

Hundred percent agree, as someone who is trained in piano and wants to improve, I hate the colour system and need numbers for fingers

Agreed. Not having numbers is the mean reason for not buying this product for me. I will, when this comes available.

Yes!! I was forced to use the colored notation when changing hand position and that made my sight reading terrible. I see the appeal of using colours as a beginner, but more avanced players don’t need/want the colours.

Finger number is more of a standard method and faster to process when reading music. At least it should be an option between colors or numbers as other apps offer.

Finger numbering each note on the piano sheet music is important especially for music sight reading. Also to have option of customize

I just had a request from you to add finger numbers in the notes, which one is better and more principled to play with.

For those of us who are learning and using standard notation, every other score outside of Yousician uses a finger number to indicate position changes. I understand if Yousician wants to display its own fingering diagram, but how about at least also displaying standard notation?
If sheet notation has been selected, each time a significant position change occurs (ie, the colored keys change on the keyboard diagram), put a finger number on the score as well.

hi. i learned piano via Simply Piano on my iPad which uses sheet music plus finger suggestions via a number above or below the notes. Getting use to the color arrangements has even kind of difficult so perhaps you could try putting finger numbers above and below the sheet music? I think this is the “normal” way to suggest finger positions too, so it’d be more standard.

Well if they do it I hope it's optional because I would have agreed when I first started out. But now I'm not sure. On normal piano sheet music not all notes have finger numbering. I used another app in the past that did have this feature and honestly playing songs with all those numbers is not ideal. The colored notation gives you a better overview.

Please add numbers to the measures. For Piano, Classical 6, Changing Positions, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE for new learners to remember where to change hand position without a landmarker.
I saw several previous years post on the forum that were already closed because of lack of support. please reopen this issue and reconsider.
Thanks

This is a feature that really needs to be prioritized. It is in general how teachers have students mark their own sheet music and has been standard in sheet music annotation for a very long time. The lack of this feature has made me start to look toward other software that offers it like Playground Sessions. I really enjoy yousician and have found it to be a great learning tool, but finger numbering for piano is really an option that needs to be there especially as you get to more advanced levels. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE prioritize making this feature a reality.

My index finger is finger 1, my middle finger is finger 2, etc. I can't get the colours in my head. When I see a pink bar with a 3 in it, I'm playing a note with my ring finger. And when I suddenly see a blue 5 appear, then it all breaks down since I don't have a 5th finger.
I'm now stuck on the "four fingers" part in Level 3 because this notation does not work for me. -

Include fingering in the sheet view as you would normally see on sheet music, ie, numbers on the sheet music where fingering shifts to a new position or when it is important. I’d like to see that on the sheet music at all times.

I have tried many Piano applications and I must say, Yousician is one of the best . It has a lots of pros, but unfortunately also one big con. It is the color finger mode. It’s a good idea for beginners, but it’s not very good for experienced players. To keep the top level position among other good piano application, please consider adding the option of assigning numbers to fingers, as it is common in the musical world.
I believe that you as the support guys and musicians can really see and understand it according to all those reaction of the Yousician fans.

I strongly agree - it should be an option, I'm used to numbers too, not colours. Learning new fingering notation makes me stop using the app.

Like other commenters said, the colours are too much to process when there are several position changes and the numbers are so intuitive. If written in the standard notation you can see changes in advance, where as with the colours I feel I need to watch the keyboard below the music to catch the changes, far too much to process. I find Yousician much more difficult to read than standard notation and most likely will not renew my subscription if this does not become an option.
