Setting to Show Scale Numbers (Roman Numberals) Instead of Note Letter
In order to remember how to play what I learn on guitar I use the scale numbers, whether it's the chord progression, e.g. a standard 12 bar blues is 1-4-1-5-4-1, or Sympathy for the Devil is a 1,7,4,1, and the melody to "When the Saints go Marching In" is 1,2,3,4; 1,2,3,4; 1,2,3,4,3,1,3,2;.... So it's easy to do in any key, and just not forget in general, I've remembered these for years and I've forgotten more than I'll ever know. I make a lot less mistakes than relying on muscle memory now that I study scale numbers, so the usefulness is more than I ever would have thought.
I know it potentially conflicts with fret numbers, but the game already has a setting for just letters, so you get the string and letter and have to figure out the fret. So scale numbers instead of letters isn't a big leap for the game, hopefully not too much coding.
Some suggestions for implementing:
I like the feature of having the fret number and letters on at the same time, to do this with scale numbers they could be roman numerals, e.g. (3,VI) means the third fret, (major) sixth note in the scale (minor would be vi). There could be other ways to do it without numbers of roman numerals, e.g. with different shapes and bubble size, so the I is the biggest, maybe a star, 5ths are next biggest etc. Minor and major could be done with slight differences to shape or border, dotted line for minor 2,3,6,7ths, solid line for major, that way you could mix in e.g. major 3s with minor 7ths for blues scales fairly easily.
For me understanding and memorizing scale number patterns has the most dramatic and longest lasting impact on playing correctly, so I prefer not to learn something without doing that so there's less learning it over. So if I could do this while playing this game, which helps in so many ways from length of practice because of fun which is good for memory, eyes forward reading, challenging fingerings, and about 73 at least other ways. But this feature would be the ultimate for me and hopefully enough others to make it happen.
