Use the Precision and Reliability of MIDI if Available/Plugged-in.
I own a Yamaha Calvinova piano, which feels like a real piano but it an electronic piano. Now I use the MIDI out and connect it to the iPad with the Yousician app. This works good, but not perfect.
It seems you don't use the MIDI data for your analysis, instead you convert the MIDI data into audio and use this audio to detect the notes. Please use the MIDI data directly, because they are much more precise and you will always detect the notes correctly (and it uses less CPU).
The current problems are:
- Sometimes a keypress is not detected correctly and missed.
- Cords are not always detected correctly.
- The timing of the key press is not always detected correctly, it depends on the loudness of the note.

Hi everyone, and thank you for your feedback.
Yousician now evaluates MIDI directly from MIDI signals on all platforms except Android. This should be also available on Android soon.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let our support team know by contacting them at support@yousician.com.
Cheers,
Bruno

Hello to all,
I currently have Casio AP-270,but on USB still there is a slight delay and not correct recognition (PC,android).
What can be the problem?
Thanks -

Yeah, it's really needed ASAP, please

You need to do this ASAP. Your competitors already support native MIDI - Synthesia, PlayGround Sessions, PianoMarvel, etc. This should be priority #1.

This needs to be done for PC and Android via OPG cable as well while ago.
Native MIDI that what everybody needs. As it was pointed this will use way less CPU , software will be able to sync better with tablets and computer -

This is the reason I won't go premium!
I enjoy this app but until they address this problem, I'll stick with piano marvel -

Agreed. This is one of the biggest shortcomings of this program. If Easy Piano and Synthesia can do it, so should you!

I would LOVE to get a yearly membership but the current workaround with the MIDI sucks. The delay is just horrible to the point it's almost unplayable.
Also, If you could add the options for 25/49/61 etc keyboards that would be great (No sense in trying to hit the octave button on the keyboard while we can still hit the proper notes).
Do these 2 things and you'll have a billion more subscriptions. I promise!

Would like to see proper native MIDI support in Yousician Piano.
Currently, recognition of piano chords is very poor for me - making it effectively unusable.
(This is in contrast to Yousician for guitar using a Rocksmith cable where I find recognition to be pretty much perfect)
The workaround given in this article https://yousician.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203673471 is complex and doesn't improve recognition for me.
(I know this has been posted before - but its been marked completed and isn't available for voting).
