Weekly challenge leaderboards based on experience Level
I like the idea of the challenges, but for a beginner like me they are completely demotivating - because more experienced guitarists fill the leaderboard with perfect scores within hours of the challenge being posted. I would like the challenge leaderboards to only show those at your current skill level - so if I'm level 3, then the leaderboard only shows those on level 3. Alternatively leave the challenges open to anyone, but only those at or below the level of the challenge can post a score. So for example a level 10 guitarist is ok to play a level…

Adding a Chord trainer for guitar!
To whom is may concern,
I am not sure if I am missing something, but it seems that while progressing (playing through songs on the rhythm side of things) songs will often throw in chords I was never taught in previous lessons....this can be a bummer as I'll have to pause the lesson in order to see the chord form to practice.
If I may be so bold...I think it would be a great addition to your app to add a "chord trainer" that runs through ever chord taught within the app.
Something that only contains chords and can be…
69 votesHi,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback. Yousician now includes a chord trainer playable before starting any song with chords. This trainer will guide you through the chords needed for that specific song so you can practice them before performing it.
Keep on rocking!

Tuners for other instruments
I play violin and can't tune my violin so I have to practice out of tune. And even better is if you can make violin. THANKS.
3 votesHi!
Yousician allows (and always will) you to tune instruments that you can use with the own app. If the future brings a violin syllabus, you can be sure you will be able to tune your violin with Yousician! :-)
With that being said, what I recommend for now is to use the other app by Yousician Oy, GuitarTuna. You can download it for free from the App Store or Play Store and use it to tune a list of different instruments (violin included).
Hope this helps!

Improve contrast to make notes more visible
Improve contrast to make notes more visible. I have real trouble distinguishing some of the notes that are above or below the staff. Not a problem with filled notes, but half and whole notes in some colours are had to see against the background. Could you darken the notes or lighten the background please?
84 votesHi everyone, and thank you for your feedback!
We have listened to your feedback have now improved the contrast to make notes more visible.
This was done in two steps:
1. We added a contrast around the notes in sheet mode;
2. We changed the thumb color to a darker green on all modes so it doesn’t blend into the background.Should you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with our support team by following this link:

Practice on a small selection from the song
Make it possible to select a region from the song and then repeatedly practice only this particular part of the song. The region can be just a couple of notes, rather than a whole section.

Song suggestions as per users level...
It would be nice to get suggestions for songs as per users level.
Currently users can see list of songs but don't know which one they can play depending upon their level.
This could be great addition to this app!
53 votesHi everyone, and thank you for your feedback!
You can now search for songs that match your level using our Advanced Search. Find more about it here:
https://yousician.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313635-Searching-for-a-songEven though it is described that way on the article, you don’t need to actually write any keyword to start searching. You can just filter by level and all songs that match the level(s) you selected will be displayed.

i have selected wrong piano type. how can i change it?
1 voteHi,
Thanks for the question.
Please note, that this forum is for proposing and discussing new features and their technical implementation solely.
You can always contact us via support@yousician.com or ask help at our forum available at https://app.yousician.com/phpbb3/index.php
Meanwhile, I will answer the question here anyways.
Although it’s not possible to see the initial instrument selection screen again, your instrument set up can be changed under SETTINGS —> GAME —> Recording Device.
Hope this helps.

iOS detect playing time
iOS should detect playing time. That way, a guitarist isn't frustrated when they used up their lesson time for the day, and it still sends a message telling the user to play. After done playing, Yousician could have a notification saying, "Good job, you played x hours today!" Or something like that. I hope this idea is taken into consideration. :)

Note names for ukulele
Piano and (guitar too, I believe) have the option to show note names. Why not ukulele? I personally find that note names are more useful to me. The fingerpicking exercises on Yousician weren't clicking until I sat down with an old-school method book and learned which notes are on which fret.
1 voteHello,
Thanks for the suggestion!
The feature of changing the fret numbers into the note names view is available in Yousician Ukulele too. It can be accessed from the pause menu of any song.
Hope this helps. Should you have any questions please contact us via support@yousician.com.

Sample of how song should sound when played correctly.
I am very new to guitar and it's been going great with your app. I am a level 5 now following both legs and I never picked up a guitar before so I am very happy. Plus trying to play along with songsome on radio or 4 chords has helped a ton with strumming. The songs are not always familiar on app and tho I try to follow arrows now that I am getting higher the patterns are difficult to play with not having any idea how it should sound. A sample of way the song played correctly would be…

Notification when a friend beats your score
You would get a notification every time one of your friends beats your score in an exercise or a song. This would encourage the player to try harder.
The notification could be a push notification or an email.
2 votesHi, and thank you for your feedback!
We are happy to announce that you will now get a notification if one of the users you are following beats your scores.
Have fun and rock on!

Fretboard memorize helper: Show the name of the played note
Lets say that I play the fourth fret on E string correctly. I get instant textual feedback "Perfect". Still, I as a novice musician I may not be aware at all what the played note actually was.
I'd like to see a feature that shows the name of the note that was just played. Instead of just "Perfect", there would be something like this rising up from the correctly played note:
(G#)
PerfectAdditionally, the name's text or background could be color coded in the same way as different chord families are color coded (blue for C and C# and…

Listen To Song button (No feedback or lesson time lost)
Ex. User clicks on the Listen Button, and it plays the song. No feedback would be given and the user doesn't lose lesson time.
This is similar to practice mode, but without feedback and it wouldn't use up lesson time. So the user would be able to listen to the song before they play it, to have a better idea of how to play it. Yousician could teach you how to play it while you listen, but it doesn't have to.
