  1. Being able to record instrument playing

Since there’s already a voice recording feature for singing, I feel like Yousician should have the same feature but for instruments so we can record ourselves and see how good we sound!

  5. Multi user licenses/School subscriptions for schools

    Dear Yousician

Congratulations on developing an outstanding product. Every year I tell students, teachers, school leaders, governors, parents and other musicians about your services with rigor and passion.

Many products for schools have multi user licenses available. Yousician is a superb and cost effective product with many admirable features however, I feel we may be choosing to miss a trick here which will undoubtedly make Yousician the most powerful practical teaching resource for a diverse range of students.

Yousician is adaptive when teaching 1to1 but when teaching a class of 30 through a single profile, it is adapting to some…

  6. Show guitar chords even on melodies and leads.

I think it would be nice to see which chord each measure is in for leads and melodies. I think this would help us learn about scales as we could see what chord would be played along with the notes you are playing. This would benefit us as seeing the location on the fretboard the notes we are playing over the chord for each measure of the song.

  9. Option to remove ear puzzles from guided lessons, or altogether

Please add the option to remove the ear puzzles. at least in guided lessons. I don't have time for those and I would rather spend the time playing than doing ear puzzles I have a hard time with.

Every time I do a guided lesson and those appear, I have to stop because I hate them.

  10. Add/expose a 'quality' knob on the existing guitar chord trainers

The existing chord trainers seem to let me get away with a lot on my electric guitar. Is there a technology limit that keeps the frequency analysis system from doing a better job of noticing when some of my strings aren’t ringing? My guess is that the tech is just fine, but there’s an internal knob for ‘allowable quality degradation’ - ie how badly beginners are allowed to miss and still get credit for hitting the chord. I’m totally get that it should work that way: if it was too strict folks would stop practicing and that’s not helpful. But…

  11. Add a game to build motor memory for guitar chord changes

I guess it’s the same for all beginners: I’m learning chords fine, but placing one finger at a time on each string. Whereas I need to be memorizing shapes with multiple fingers pressing at the same time. Yousician’s strategy is to just keep increasing the pace until you have to abandon finger-per-string. Surely that’ll work eventually, but I’ll bet you can do better with some kind of a trainer/game that incentivizes shapes with quality ring vs. just speed. I haven’t thought through what this would look like, but I’ll bet you have! If you already know the right learning-theory method…

  12. Voice control

I'd like to be able to navigate the gui with voice commands. Would free up myhands from awkwardly reaching for the controls while holding an instrument.

  13. Comments with a song

It would greatly help to have a text field for comments with a song to write out the difficult parts of it or any other messages what would help to mark the songs for review. In wider perspective it could lead to training diary.

  15. Gamification suggestion

Please add as daily or weekly more gamification options.
    I can suggest for piano the following;
Out of 10 tries, the user will find the note, chord and even a scale on what is requested on the screen. The faster the user plays the requested note or chord the better the score will be. Example; let’s say on the screen on my first try is requested to play chord Dm . The score will be counted based on accuracy/ time spent to play the chord. If the user plays correctly or fails to play the chord, the game continue to…

  16. Ideas on expanding the star system and incorporating a spaced repetition

For example. We get gold stars for completing the song part my part. Yet there's no star award for getting perfect all the way through. Maybe we should add a part where if you can play through the whole song perfectly, not only will you get gold stars, but you get like a star medal or something.
Also, this I believe is especially true for the workout sections. Scales, chords, ect.. There should be some sort of spaced repetition for these. These are the kind of things that do need to be memorized, and it would be cool to see…

  18. Show picking direction (lead guitar)

It would be helpful if there was a small arrow next to the notes that show if the string should be picked with an upward or downward stroke.

That way, the player can see whether he should use economy picking, alternate picking or some other combination in more complex songs.

It would be a great tool since inexperienced players wouldn't have to guess how to play a certain part.

  19. Challenges with non-Yousician Music

For the last three weeks, the piano challenges have been based on Yousician-authored music rather than well-known songs. Can we get more challenges based on known songs? Thanks!
